AN URGENT MESSAGE FOR ANYONE WHO LOVES FORT TOTTEN!
On March 1, 2009, guard service is going to be removed from Fort Totten's main gate due to Mayor Bloomberg’s budget cuts.
This increases the potential for vandalism, arson & burglary of historic buildings, not to mention damage to FDNY and NYPD vehicles and other assets.
The cost of repairing the damage that could occur to base property, not to mention Fort Totten's community image, could quickly become higher than the cost of maintaining security, so where are the savings?
